At Franz-GT Kessler Designs, we try to make our lamps and lighting fit into and enhance the beauty of a home's interior environments: there is a personal place where one can unwind and relax, a place where one entertains guests, a warm and intimate place for private conversation, and perhaps an office space made more attractive and functional by a special lamp.

Lamps made from quality hardwoods and intricate metal shades-distinctive in design, material and precision-are our specialty. We also offer beautiful fabric shadesand two choices of mica shades. We make every one of our lamps by using precision machine techniques and "hands on" craftsmanship. (In our opinion, craftsmanship is really "artisanship.") We reveal the character of our hardwoods by using hand applied oils and quality paste waxes which bring out-and continue to development over time- the unique beauty and patina of each kind of hardwood.

Designs and Art:
Frobel Blocks, who influenced Frank Lloyd Wright, inspired most of our designs. Franz-GT Kessler Designs also brings forward art and the honesty of the Arts and Crafts Movement while incorporating aspects of Mission Style design. These influences, and the use of the highest quality of hardware components, make our lamps beautifully contemporary.

Our design table is a busy and a thoughtful one, for we are always creating new designs that are sleekly elegant, modern and original. We create material interpretations of the past that we blend with the anticipated future. Our creations are artful renditions of both past and future united in the present.  We hope that you receive as much enjoyment from our lamps as we have had in designing and creating them.

We are a small company that cares about each customer. What Franz likes best in building his lamps is bringing out the natural beauty of the woods as he applies the finishing oils and waxes to them by hand, for each piece of wood has its own character to give to the lamp, and each lamp is signatured, dated and given a serial number.

Each of Franz's creations is, quite literally, a gift of time that can enlighten. It can also be a "timely" gift.
